I've been reading David McCullough's The Greater Journey: Americans in Paris.  An excellent book about young explorers trying to find something about themselves in the culturally different environment of 18th century Paris.

Another book, Ernest Hemingway's A Moveable Feast takes place in the 1920's, also in Paris.  A young writer tries to  hone his craft as a writer in a comfortable place that is somehow rapidly changing.

Sadly, the once comfortable place of America is changing too.

By some lucky accident I found a tool about Social Media Icons by British graphic designer specialising in interaction design and front-end web development. His name is Paul Robert Lloyd.

The Clean, Well-Lit Place of his Web Site, and especially his Journal (featuring trips to the states) is the older world revisiting us as still a new world.  His fresh eyes seeing things we somehow miss or just take for granted.

The Train rides in his Journal take me back to another place and another time.

A place fast fading away.
