I came to know through a social network (I have many colleagues as friends there, and they usually post more
useful stuff than cute kittens) that ATLAS has launched a very intriguing competition. One you can participate to,
if you have some programming skills; no knowledge of
particle physics is needed.

Don't Pass GO to Get Started.

(heh, heh just kidding.........)

Go starting kit

Go is a statically-typed programming language (like C/C++) with concurrency builtins to ease coding.

The kit provided here (courtesy of Sébastien Binet, LAL) is the simplest one using Go and nothing else (heavily based on the simplest python kit). It makes a simple window selection on just one variable.
