MC2 Post 1497 Is Fedora 18 Going to the Dark Side ???

Fedora 18 released with a brand new installer

The Fedora Project has released version 18 of its Linux distribution, code-named "Spherical Cow". The long-awaited and much delayed release introduces a completely reworked installer. The distribution is available with GNOME 3.6 as the default and optional KDE 4.9, Xfce 4.10, Cinnamon 1.6 and MATE 1.4 desktops.

Its Secure Boot support allows Fedora 18 to be booted on Windows 8 PCs without hassle and, unlike Ubuntu, it also uses the security features of the technology. This does, however, prevent users from installing self-compiled kernels or kernel modules from NVIDIA's and AMD's proprietary graphics drivers.
