MC2 Post 1485 Why Linux -- Slipping Off the radar -- Still Matters

True Story.

I remember, working in a paint store and trying to explain how to figure out how much paint a customer would need. 

I said, in my silliness, it's simple,  Step One:  

You multiply the wall dimensions Height Times Width, in feet.  

That gives you the square footage for that wall.

 

Next I tried to get to step two, but was interrupted by the customer.

 

"Wait," she said,  " I can't do that.  I'm an English Teacher, not a math teacher..." 

Another Day in the Life of Retail....

 

I can't believe she couldn't 'Do That',  she just wasn't trying.

 

We don't want to sweat the math, just give us the EZ answers.

That's why computers are being dumbed down for consumers.
   

It seems that  75-80% of us,  don't need to know what's happening

Inside the machine.

 

That why we use "Smart Phones" and why  "Really Smart 

Tablets" are growing Leaps and Bounds.

Gee, even kids "know" how to use them.

But what's under the hood?
 

And "Who Really needs the math?"



 
What we don't use we lose.  It's really that simple.
