Google Maps 'Next Dimension' Event: Join us Wed. (live blog)

As rumors swirl about Apple ditching Google Maps in iOS, Google's got a big Maps-related event planned for Wednesday morning in San Francisco.  CNET will be there to bring you the news live.

Google is taking the wraps off some new mapping technology Wednesday, and CNET will be there to bring you the news live.
The Google Maps event kicks off at 9:30 a.m. Pacific. You can go here to find out where that is in your time zone, as well as set a reminder.
In its invite last week, Google said that its vice president of Google Maps and Earth, Brian McClendon, would be providing a "behind-the-scenes" look at Google Maps, as well as showing off "some of the newest technology" and a "sneak peak" at upcoming features.
