Header: Google Drive is all the rage in today's hotly contested cloud-storage space. The offering, which was first announced on April 24, is widely believed to be the next big answer to services like Dropbox and Box and could very well become a popular option for those who already work with Google Apps or are looking to move their data away from their current storage service.
Before Watchmen will cover the back stories of each of the major characters in the original graphic novel.
There’s been quite a bit of controversy about the creation of the prequel, with the original writer and artist split on whether it should move forward.
While artist Dave Gibbons supports the project, writer Alan Moore has become more belligerent about his hate for DC and the way they treat what he perceives as his intellectual property.
About a month ago I highlighted what Mozilla had in store for Firefox 13. The information back then were based on the aurora release channel, and information that Mozilla had posted at that time. Firefox 13 has now been moved to the beta channel where it will stay for the next six weeks before it will become the the stable version of the web browser replacing Firefox 12.
It's really shaping up to be one amazing genre summer
at the movies.
We've got The Avengers right around the corner, The Dark Knight Rises, and the film a lot of my genre friends are really looking forward to, Prometheus. It's pretty much believed to be a prequel to Alien, and with Ridley Scott at the helm, it promises to be a terrifying trip back into space. Alien DNA is in Prometheus and Prometheus is also Scott's first foray back into science fiction since Blade Runner thirty years ago.
Header:By a vote of 248 to 168, a bipartisan majority approved the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act, or CISPA, which would permit Internet companies to hand over confidential customer records and communications to the National Security Agency and other portions of the U.S. government. CISPA would "waive every single privacy law ever enacted in the name of cybersecurity," said Jared Polis, a Colorado Democrat, during today's marathon floor debate. "Allowing the military and NSA to spy on Americans on American soil goes against every principle this country was founded on."
Header: Summary: Apple’s removal an app from the App Store that allowed users to quickly access a popular setting demonstrates how it has become lethargic and how iOS innovation slowed to a crawl.
Apple pulls Bluetooth on/off from the App Store - Jason O'Grady It should come as no surprise that Apple has removed the wonderful Bluetooth OnOff app from the App Store.
The wonderful, single-purpose $0.99 app allowed you to turn Bluetooth on and off with one touch, something users have been clamoring for since the iPhone came out in 2007.I hope that you grabbed it while you could!

The company's new router is based on the as-yet-unratified 802.11ac standard, which is theoretically three times faster than the preceding 802.11n standard.

For the newest version of the ROS open source robot operating system, the developers have substantially revised their software. In this release, which is code-named "Fuerte Turtle", they completely rewrote the central libraries to improve interoperability and make them usable with other robotics frameworks.
ROS Fuerte Turtle includes version 1.0 of the Gazebo simulator environment, which has a new user interface that has been migrated from WxWidgets to Qt. The developers say that this change provides improved integration under Mac OS X. The RViz visualisation tool has also been migrated to Qt. ROS Fuerte Turtle also includes version 1.5 of the Point Cloud Library (PCL), with the long-awaited object-tracking library.
Yeah, this is Pretty Serious Stuff. But then, You Don't want your Robot to get out of Hand, do you.
Last month, on something of a whim, I wrote up an introduction and guide to working with the TRS-80 Model 100, one of the first ever “notebook” computers, released in 1983. The Model 100 was something that had always interested me, and I thought I would share some of my experiences with
getting software installed on it, and maybe introduce this nearly 30 year old piece of hardware to a new audience.
The good:The Panasonic DMP-BDT220 has built-in Wi-Fi, 3D compatibility, and the Viera Connect suite of streaming-media services, which includes Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant, Pandora, and Vudu. The first wave of 10,000 units made available by the manufacturer sold out within minutes, and with such a level of demand, the Raspberry Pi Foundation was quickly able to establish more flexible production and distribution arrangements, compared with its original restrictions of only being limited to batches of 10,000 units at a time
Much as I like 7-inch tablets like the Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet, I can definitely see the appeal of a 10-inch model -- especially when it's priced only a little higher. For example, 1SaleADay was recently selling the refurbished 10-inch Toshiba Thrive Android tablet for $259.99. Of course, that was the 16GB model.
Today, and while supplies last, 1SaleADay (via Ebay) has the 32GB Toshiba Thrive Android tablet for $259.99 shipped. That's without a doubt the best deal I've seen on a 10-inch tablet with that much storage.
