MC2 Post 1837 Looking Under the Hood In the New Age of Technology

An easily expandable phone isn't always an easily repairable phone. If you need proof, take a look at iFixit's newly completed teardown of the Galaxy S5. While Samsung's latest flagship gets some kudos for its removable battery and microSD slot, it's considerably tougher to take apart than its GS4 predecessor. You now have to remove the display if you want to replace any of the internals, and the removal process is especially tricky; part replacements are only easy once you're past this daunting hurdle.

Now You SEE  it, Even If You Really DON'T...

Land Rover Transparent Bonnet concept lets you see what’s under the car Land Rover has unveiled a new concept system that makes the hood of the car see through so that the driver can see what is under the car and out of their line of sight.

The tech is called the Transparent Bonnet concept and provides a full view of what is under and in front of the car, so drivers can see hidden obstacles. Land Rover says that the transparent bonnet system is part of a suite of concept tech being showcased in the Discovery Vision Concept car at the New York International Motor Show.

2015 Audi TT Virtual Cockpit:
                       Exclusive Hands-on

From:   http://www.slashgear.com

Audi's new 2015 TT is certainly striking from the outside, with the third-gen design bringing the crisp lines of the original right up to date, but it's the all-new dashboard and infotainment system, Audi Virtual Cockpit, which the driver will spend most time looking at. Freshly created for the new car with an updated version of the MMI controller and all-virtual gages, it's a driver-focused system that SlashGear had the opportunity to try out in advance of the 2015 TT hitting forecourts at Audi HQ in Ingolstadt, Germany. Read on for our exclusive first-look.

We'd already seen what Audi can do with high-power infotainment in the 2015 A3, with its gesture-recognizing MMI controller, pop-up display, and Tegra-powered brain. The 2015 Audi TT takes things to a whole new level, however, doing away with physical gages entirely in favor of a high-resolution digital instrument cluster.
