Since its release on Tuesday Skype on iPhone has been downloaded more than a million times--that's a rate of six downloads a second, according to the company.

Watching Dickens depiction of the English Government's foibles of the 18th Century, sparked a renewed interest in Charles Dickens.

The story about Little Dorrit is said to be a Bio of Dickens himself, as his father spent time in a Debtors prison.

My interest increased to the point of grabbing my iPod Touch and searched for a Public Domain copy of the Book.

In less time than a commercial spot on regular TV a copy was downloaded to my iPod Touch.

I'm as guilty as anyone else. MacWorld Expo came and went and we were left pondering,

"Where is the World is the Mac's NetBooK?".

We were looking for something between the iPhone and the Air, and it never showed...

Then today I read a story on The Register about Sun Microsystems entrenchment and acquisition of Tools to enpower Cloud Computing. And their move to join the ranks of Net Storage Poviders. The reduced need for a full-Bore OS, and Mega-Storage.

It was when I sent an email to myself about this gathering of tools by Sun: Open Solaris, Java, MySQL, and New Cloud Software like Q-Layer and PyMonkey, (which reminded me a lot like Rocks Roll configuration program for their Simple Linux Cluster Creator), that something Edgar Allen Poe once said rang a bell.

The best way to hide something was to put it in plain sight.

I blinked and I saw Apple's NetBook. I was holding it in my hands and I had been using it for several months now.

It was the iPod Touch.

MacBook Rumor Mill Cranking UP...

On Monday, Apple finance chief Peter Oppenheimer, turned the machine on with:

The rumour mill has further been fuelled by Apple finance chief Peter Oppenheimer in the company's recent quarterly conference call, on Monday.

"We are working to develop new products that contains technologies that our competition will not be able to match. I cannot discuss these new products, but we are very confident in our product pipeline," said trumpeted.

The source said the product should arrive before the end of October.

Macbook Touch ???

An informer for Macdailynews has come out with a variety of claims about a new device.

These include talk of a Macbook-sized screen in Iphone-like glass, with fully-featured multi-touch on Mac OS X.

Apparently, he believes this is why the company bought P.A. Semi - and the device may include Immersion's haptic technology which may allow tactile feedback, among other new touch-screen features.

Similarly to the Iphone, the device is purported to contain GPS, a DVD-RW drive and an accelerometer. It will be App-Store compatible, yet able to run standard Mac applications.

Apparently, the same informer has spoken to Macdailynews previously concerning over products tip-bits and has got the information right.

They ordered 25 million in JUNE.
