MC2 Post 1090 Jolicloud heads to the actual cloud

Joli OS gets Open-Sourced

Mum's been the word from the Jolicloud camp over the past few months -- summer vacation, we get it -- but the company has apparently been working quite diligently on what's next: the "new Jolicloud platform."

MC2 Post 1089 The Next Step of ePaper -- Bendable

From:  http://www.engadget.com

AUO's Flexible e-paper to take on Stretch Armstrong in Battle of the Bendiest

There's nothing better than unplugging on a Sunday afternoon with a newspaper and a cup of Joe, which is exactly what AU Optronics hopes to facilitate with its 6-inch Rollable Organic TFT E-paper. We've heard rumblings about the foldable photovoltaic device before, but the company has finally delivered a working prototype that is completely solar powered and elastic enough to make even Gumby jealous. Made of organic TFTs, the SVGA e-paper has an amorphous silicon PV battery, which turns natural or indoor light into solar energy without requiring a power plug.

MC2 Post 1088 The slow Walking Dead Zombies Just Got a Ticket....

From:  http://www.accesshollywood.com

And a Green Light For Season Three

AMC confirmed on Tuesday that they greenlit Season 3 of the survivalists-meet-zombies drama, based on Robert Kirkman’s comic book series, and starring Brit Andrew Lincoln.

Season Two of ‘walking dead’ Scares Up Viewers

Sheriff Rick Grimes is coming back for a third season to deliver swift

justice to those flesh-loving zombies on “The Walking Dead.”

Zombie Series deftly Mixes Elements

of Horror with Emotional Drama

AMC’s The Walking Dead has been nothing short of a phenomenon. The season two premiere episode, which aired Sunday, Oct. 16, brought in a record-breaking 7.3 million viewers. After the deaths that wracked the group at the end of the last season, The Walking Dead left fans wondering how our gang of survivors would move on. The season’s first episode, “What Lies Ahead,” demonstrates that while hope is almost lost, the survivors are far from giving in to the millions of zombies who have taken control of the world.

MC2 1086 iPod Creator's Next Quest: Making Thermostats Sexy

The Nest Learning Thermostat is designed to improve home energy efficiency by 20 percent to 30 percent. It was designed by a team of Apple and other Silicon Valley veterans.

It's hard to imagine making thermostats sexy, but if anyone could do it, it would be the "father of the iPod."

MC2 1083 Just Say Hello Netflix Goodbye Cable

Goodbye Cable

Hello Netflix

Just this last week I finished 4 Seasons of BSG, the Top Pick on Most Lists as The BEST Sci-Fi Series on TV.

I Agree.

I'm Now Into the Prequel Caprica which only had 22 episodes.

The Pundits all seem to enjoy taking Jabs at Netflix's Public Banter, but on The Whole, the Netflix Package
at 7.99 a Month is Hard To BEAT!

Wingman.

=======================================

Yeah they Lost Starz, but the inclusion of Hit AMC's Series
Such as Mad Men, Breaking Bad, The Killing and Last Year's Surprise Zombie Hit The Walking Dead.

Netflix is a Good Reason why the

Cable Network Zombies

should be Scared.

MC2 Post 1082 Why I Love Tips and Tricks

From:  http://www.howtogeek.com

Way back in my Linux days, whenever I installed a new Distro (Distribution: like Fedora, Ubuntu, Debian and even SuSE.) I would always look for a web page that had quick and dirty ways of adding features that the compiler of the ditribution left out for various reasons.  Adding VLC as the preferred media player was always first on the list.

Now that Linux-styled Best Practices has become pretty much mainstream, Tips and Tricks are available for most popular Operating Systems.  Even Windows.

Without further fanfare I give You (from How-To-Geek):

iPhone Keylogger Can Snoop on Desktop Typing

Get into the office, sit down at the computer and lay your cellphone on the desk – a ritual that millions play out every morning, but one that could reveal more than you expect. Security researchers have discovered they can detect the vibrations caused by using a computer keyboard and read off what is being typed simply by placing a smartphone with a keylogging app on the desk nearby.
